Rachel Chaplin
Rachel Chaplin is a Training and Supervising Analyst of the British Psychoanalytical Society, working in private practice in East London. She teaches clinical and theoretical seminars at the Institute of Psychoanalysis.

As Honorary Associate Professor at UCL she previously co-ordinated the Lacan and Modern French Psychoanalysis module and now convenes the Psychoanalysis and Other Disciplines module.  She is particularly interested in exploring the intersections between psychoanalysis and literature and the visual arts, and in the work of Andre Green, Winnicott and Laplanche.  She has recently published a chapter on the workings of bisexuality in the analytic session (in Psychic Bisexuality: a British-French Dialogue, ed Rosine Jozef Perelberg, Routledge 2018) and a paper on the need for there to be a ‘bonus of pleasure’ in the act of representing, a reading of the work of Elizabeth Bishop and Piera Aulagnier (International Journal of Psychoanalysis 101 (2), 2020).
