We are pleased to offer a one day workshop
presented by Patrick Luyten, focusing on the use
of Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy with Medically
Unexplained Symptoms.
This workshop focuses on the way that depressed
patients often express their difficulties in bodily
symptoms and how as DIT practitioners, we can
find ways of encouraging our patients to mentalise
and symbolise their difficulties.
There will be an experiential component to the day
and a chance for participants to put new concepts
into practice. The training will build on a core
understanding of DIT and will focus on insights into
the development of our understanding of the
embodied mind and the implications for treatment
within the DIT model.
The workshop is suitable for anyone working with
patients presenting with depression and anxiety as
well as those who primarily present with medically
unexplained symptoms. This is a workshop and so
there will be an opportunity to put into practice
the ideas and techniques presented during the day.
