The Robert and Judith Wallerstein Memorial Library

The Psychoanalysis Unit's MSc and PhD students are welcome to use the Psychoanalysis Unit's library of books, journals and periodicals from the collections of Prof Joseph Sandler, Prof Peter Fonagy and the Robert and Judith Wallerstein bequest.

A full list of the Journals and Periodicals, Books to Loan and Reference Books can be found on the PhD Moodle site.

Journals and Periodicals as well as Books to Loan can be borrowed for up to 15 days. After this period if the book is not required by another user the loan can be renewed by contacting the Unit's Librarian, Wilson Gallego Hoyos (ucjtw00@ucl.ac.uk). Reference books cannot be removed from the building, but can be borrowed to read at the Unit during office hours (9-5 Monday-Friday). You are advised to check availability of reference books in advance of your visit as not all books are accessible at all times, since the rooms where they are kept are also used for teaching and meetings. Students wishing to access the reference collection will be asked to show their UCL ID card and agree a return time. Note that reference books cannot be borrowed overnight.

If you would like to borrow a book or periodical, please request this at least one day in advance via e-mail to Wilson Gallego Hoyos at ucjtw00@ucl.ac.uk, indicating the title and the year of publication (in case there is more than one copy). You will need to provide your student ID and mobile number when you borrow the book or journal. Please note that you are allowed to hold up to three books from the General Collection and up to two Journals/Periodical at any one time. Our library is a unique resource and we ask all students to be mindful of the needs of others by ensuring that they return borrowed books promptly and keep the librarian informed if extensions of loans are needed.

Usual service times are: Thursdays from 12:00 to 15:00 and Fridays from 14:00 to 18:00. All books will be delivered and returned in Room 544 or Room 540a.
