As-and-when Research Assistant, PsyMaptic-A
Part time (up to 30 hours per week), Grade 6B, Payment (inclusive of London allowance) £16.54 per hour, equivalent to Grade 6B spine point 24

The Research Assistant will be working on a project looking at the expected incidence (number of new cases) of serious mental illness in England, led by Dr James Kirkbride. The study is funded by the Wellcome Trust.
The duties of the Research Assistant will include preparing spatially- and temporally-referenced data for interactive, online visualisation, updating data, content and style on our study website (www.psymaptic.org) as necessary, and preparing figures for publication in various peer-reviewed papers or reports. Our objective is to launch the live online visualisation tool in January 2020.
Payment will be per hour, corresponding to the hourly rate for Grade 6, spine point 24. Work will be available until 31 December 2019, for not more than an average of 30 hours per week.
We require a 2:1 or above in a degree related to computer science (or equivalent). Experience of working with spatial data and software, and of data visualisation and website design are essential, including content management systems such as Wordpress. A Masters in spatial data analysis would be desirable. Experience of academic research, good numeracy and literacy skills and excellent interpersonal skills are also required.
