Undergraduate study

Members of the Division of Psychiatry teach on the UCL Medical School MBBS course, covering areas such as depression, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, and psychosis.

This teaching is in lecture and small group format, and from an early stage students attend clinical sessions within the NHS Trusts allied to UCL, which include Camden & Islington NHS Foundation Trust, Barnet Enfield & Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust, and North East London NHS Foundation Trust. Typical clinical placements for medical students include attending a Memory Clinic, sitting in on ward rounds on an acute psychiatric ward, or accompanying a clinician on a home visit.

In addition to supervising UCL Medical School undergraduates who wish to gain a publication by conducting a systematic review or survey, we also supervise other UCL undergraduates, for example those studying Human Sciences, in dissertations relating to mental health. If you would like to conduct such an undergraduate project do feel free to contact any of us directly, having looked through the webpages describing individuals’ research interests.
