What interventions improve the experience of pain in patients approaching the end

What interventions improve the experience of pain in patients approaching the end of life?

Pain talk

Pain is the most feared symptom associated with advanced diseases and remains a common experience for patients approaching the end of life. Understanding what works well and what doesn't can help generalists and palliative care specialists provide better clinical management. This lecture will summarise current evidence including research from the St Gemma's Academic Unit of Palliative Care at University of Leeds. It will draw on sources such as analysis of VOICES survey, longitudinal qualitative interviews, meta-analyses of drug and non-drug interventions and a recent large RCT of a complex intervention to community based patients.
