We are investigating the experience of elective home education of your autistic child or your child with a learning (intellectual disability).
You are invited to participate in this study because you have a child with a neurodevelopmental condition: either a learning (intellectual) disability or an autism spectrum condition, or both. Your child may also have other conditions.
Your child is school-aged: between 5 and 15 years old. You may be the child’s parent (biological, foster, adoptive, step, co-parent) or carer.
Your child is home educated (Elective Home Education). You live in any part of the UK.
The COVID-19 pandemic brought many disruptions to children’s education. We are interested in understanding families' experiences of home educating their children through COVID-19.
The survey takes about 15 minutes to complete, is anonymous (no names or IP addresses), and includes three sections:
- information about your child (e.g., health, age, conditions)
- home education experiences
- some information about you and your family (e.g., your relationship to the child, your age and health, your thoughts on COVID-19, family life).
Please find here a complete Participant Information Sheet about the study. Please read this and if you would like to participate in the study, click this link. You will be asked to consent to take part in the research and then the survey will begin.
