Research Interests

Eating disorders have a high burden of illness and negative impact on physical and psychological wellbeing and quality of life, however the majority of people with these conditions do not get help (NICE, 2017).

My PhD project aims to develop an eating disorder module(s) within an existing digital mental health app to support the self-management of adults with mild to moderate eating disorders.  The app development process will be based upon the application of theory, best clinical practice and involve behaviour change and user experience design methods, so that the resulting app is easy to use, engaging and has the potential to be effective.

I will be involving people with eating disorders in the design and development process, to ensure the app addresses their needs and is engaging enough to be used.

My PhD is supervised by Dr. Sarah Rowe and Dr. Pippa Bark-Williams.
