Research Interests
My PhD is funded by the Colt Foundation and looks at the experience of mental health practitioners when a patient dies by suicide or commits a homicide. Specifically, my research focuses on the experience of the Coroner’s Inquest and the surrounding investigatory procedure after the unexpected death of a patient. Through qualitative interviews and a stakeholder consultation process, the research aims to identify feasible recommendations to improve the inquest experience for mental health staff whilst still delivering the coroner’s primary aims of establishing the cause of death.
