Research Interests

It is crucial for psychiatrists nowadays to remember that different genetic and environmental risk factors can influence psychiatry disorders’ development and treatment response differently. Because of these variations, individuals can have diverse treatment needs and different responses to specific treatments. Regarding medication, we need to become extra careful as psychiatric drugs have well-documented side effects. My main research interests focus on combining clinical and genetic markers for building risk prediction models that facilitate more personalized treatment allocation. This can help us ensure that psychiatric treatment is recommended to patients most likely to respond at the earliest opportunity and is avoided in those who will likely derive no clinical benefits or cause damage. Through my work, I wish to help psychiatrists achieve precision psychiatry which optimizes treatment planning in the near future.
