Exploring Clinical Applications of Genetics to Psychosis Identification and Treatment”.

1st supervisor: Professor Elvira Bramon, 2nd supervisor: Professor Andrew McQuillin

Abstract: As the use of genetics within the healthcare system is increasing, Lauren Varney’s PhD project investigates potential ways that genetics could be used within the clinical care of psychosis, both in terms of identification and treatment. This PhD project will examine polygenic scores and pharmacogenetic variation and their association with psychosis presentation and antipsychotic treatment response, respectively.
