I am deeply aware of the fact that we do not start our life including our education on a level playing ground. This principle informs my work within UCL EDI, and in turn allows me to contribute toward its activities.
Research and psychology don’t tend to be very representative in regards to gender, class and ethnicity, ... , so having an EDI initiative is crucial to make underrepresented and marginalised groups feel more welcome.
Seeing other trans people working and thriving in academic settings was and is a source of great inspiration and helps maintain my drive to produce work that empowers any marginalised community that I work with.
