Changes to assessment results

Following the Government’s decision that A-level results will be now determined by Centre Assessed Grades, as well as the changes to International Baccalaureate, SQA and Cambridge International qualifications, we are delighted to accept all students who meet the terms of their original offer.

We are unable to accept students who have not met or exceeded the conditions of their UCL offer, and the form to let us know of changes to your results is now closed. If you are interested in starting a new application for the 2021/22 academic year, please visit our webpages for prospective students.

We are working with UCAS to process regraded results and this may take some time. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

We understand applicants are anxious and that of course the stakes are high, but UCL will not tolerate abusive behaviour towards members of our Admissions team. We will end calls and email correspondence where this happens.

If you believe your grades have changed and will now meet the conditions of your offer, please note we will only accept official grades from the exam boards, which will be sent to us by UCAS. You do not need to send us any further information.

Your options will depend on the status of your results and the programme you have applied to study:

  • If you have a conditional firm or conditional insurance offer from UCL, and following regrading before 18 September you meet the original conditions of your offer: we will confirm your place for this academic year.
  • If you have a conditional firm or conditional insurance offer from UCL, and following regrading after 18 September you meet the original conditions of your offer: we will confirm your place for the next academic year 2021/22.
  • If you have a conditional firm or conditional insurance offer from UCL, and following regrading you meet the original conditions of your offer: you may choose to defer your studies until the 2021/22 academic year. You will not have to reapply through UCAS.
  • If you have a conditional firm or conditional insurance offer from UCL and you decide to take your exams this autumn: you can reapply and be guaranteed your original offer on the basis of these results.
  • If you have applied to study Medicine and you have a conditional firm or conditional insurance offer from UCL, and after regrading you meet the original conditions of your offer: please read our updated guidance in response to the recent statement from the UK Government.
