The Keith Wightman Scholarship
The aim of the scholarship is to enable and encourage first year UCL students who show excellence in the sport of Golf to pursue their interest.
UCL normally offers one scholarship each session.
Eligible candidates will:
- be a student from any country;
- have successfully completed the first year of their undergraduate degree studies in any subject at UCL;
- show an excellence in golf, and academic excellence.
The scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic excellence and golfing excellence (preference will be given to students with a handicap of 5 or less, and/or category 1 golfers). If there are no qualified candidates meeting this criteria in any given year, the scholarship may be awarded to another sportsperson who has shown excellence in his or her choosen sport. Financial need will also be taken into consideration.
The scholarship will be awarded by the Council upon the recommendation of a selection panel made up of UCL staff, and appropriate golf and sport officials at the UCL Union (e.g. President of the UCL Union Golf Society and the UCL Union Activities Officer).
