Information for Prospective Students
UCL UPC Progression Scholarships
The UCL UPC Progression Scholarships aim to encourage UPCSE (Preparatory Certificate for Science and Engineering) and UPCH (Preparatory Certificate for Humanities and Social Sciences) students to continue to undergraduate study at UCL, and recruit new students into UCL's UPCSE and UPCH programmes.
UCL normally offers one new UPCSE and one new UPCH Progression Scholarship each session.
Candidates will be:
- enrolled on UCL's UPCSE or UPCH programme
- admitted for undergraduate studies at UCL.
Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic performance. The selected scholars will be the UPCSE/UPCH students with the highest academic performance throughout the UPCSE/UPCH programme. Financial circumstances are not taken into account.
Value: Benefits and Duration
The scholarships consist of £5,000 per annum for the duration of the undergraduate programme. Scholarships will be applied to fees with any remainder paid as a maintenance allowance.
Annual renewal of the scholarships is based on satisfactory progress of the scholars who are expected to maintain an academic standard equivalent to at least an upper second-class honours (2:1) throughout the undergraduate programme.
Application Procedure and Deadline
There is no application procedure. All UCL UPCSE/UPCH students holding an offer of admission for undergraduate studies at UCL will be considered.
Notification of Results
The UCL Centre for Languages and International Education will make its recommendation in August, and the successful candidates can expect to be officially notified by the end of September.
