Studying Politics, Sociology and East European Studies at UCL
UCL SSEES academics have provided extensive media commentary on the war, alongside curating events, ways to help and resources to help us understand the history and politics of the region.
In each event in this series of online talks, we pair two of our academics - each from a different discipline - and invited them to discuss a shared research theme or problem.
The new SSEES podcast, curated by MA students, condenses all you need to know about the 15 modern-day countries of the former Soviet Union, in a handy 10 minutes per episode.
Students have the opportunity to spend their third year studying at a partner institution or work placement overseas. The year abroad offers exposure to a different culture, an opportunity to learn language, and for many students is the highlight of their university experience.
Prof Alena Ledeneva leads the Global Informality Project ,which provides the first multimedia online resource that explores informal practices and structures from a global perspective.
