Our very first UCL Virtual Open Day exclusively for Parents and Carers of prospective university students will take place on the 4 July 2020 12-3PM BST.
Hosting our first UCL Virtual Open Week we are also taking the opportunity to offer a full day filled with sessions specifically planned for parents and carers of students considering their university studies starting in September 2021. At UCL we appreciate the important role parents and carers play in supporting their children when considering their future study options. Starting university can be a stressful time for both students and parents. The event aims to ensure that you have access to the necessary information to support and help your child in their decision to study at university.
What you can expect on the day
12pm – 12.30pm - Student Support Services Q&A
Chat to and explore our student support services and what we offer our students beyond the lecture theatre. You can also listen to our student ambassadors talk to their parents about what it was like for them when they were applying to university.
Among others, you will be able to chat to representatives from Accommodation, Student Support and Wellbeing, the UCL Students’ Union, Careers as well as the Almuni team.
12.30pm – 1.15pm – Parents and Careers Virtual Open Day Insights

They will share their experiences as parents of children currently applying or already studying at university and answer any questions that you may have. We shall also have representation from our Student Support and Wellbeing Team to answer any questions about the support we offer our students to ensure they can make the most of their time at university.
1.15 – 3pm – Subject and Department Q&A’s
Your chance to speak to staff from our leading faculties and departments. This will offer you unique insight into our world leading degree programmes and ask the important questions you need to support your children in their choices.
