General Talks and Tours

We are holding a series of general talks throughout the event.  Tickets are not required for these talks, although we do recommend you arrive 10-15 minutes before the talk is due to start as admission will be based on a 'first-come first-served' basis. The Professional Services delivering the session will be available for in-depth questions at their stands in the Advice Lounge in the Student Centre from 3-7pm.

Funding Your Studies

Funding is an essential aspect to all postgraduate studies. Finding information about funding your postgraduate degree programme can be difficult and highly dispersed. The UCL Funding Office offers you all the information you need in just one session. Make sure you attend one of the below sessions delivered by our own funding experts to get an overview on the tuition fees, loans, scholarships and much more. 

The session ‘Postgraduate funding: Considering the alternatives’ will be delivered by Dr. Shouzi Zhou author of the best-selling ‘Alternative Guide to Postgraduate Funding. She will talk to you about funding sources and opportunities you may not have thought or heard about – a session not to be missed! We recommend arriving 10 minutes prior to the start of the session to secure the best seats.

Applying for graduate taught programmes (PGT)

This session is tailored to all those of you that are interested in a Postgraduate Taught Degree (PGT) and will therefore give you an in-depth insight into how to choose your degree programme. This sessions is a great opportunity for you to get to know everything about writing a strong personal statement and selecting the right referees for your application. 

No booking is required for the session and admission will be on a first come, first served basis. Please ensure to be at the venue 10 minutes prior to the start of session to ensure a smooth running of the evening. 

Applying for graduate research programmes (PGR)

This session is tailored to all those of you that are interested in a Postgraduate Research Degree (PGR) and will therefore give you an in-depth insight into the different options for applying to UCL – the independent way and how this differs to an application via a studentship. This sessions is a great opportunity for you to learn everything you need to know about writing strong research proposals and finding a suitable supervisor so make sure not to miss it.

Meet the Alumni - Advice from UCL Graduates 

Gain insight and advice from those who have experienced UCL first hand. During this panel talk you will have the opportunity to meet UCL alumni who will share their experiences of their time at UCL, what they have gone on to do now and answer any questions you might have! 
Whatever you want to do in the future, at UCL you will be joining a supportive global network. The UCL Alumni Relations team work with alumni, who volunteer their time to support our students and graduates. The team will also be on hand to discuss the benefits available to UCL students and alumni.

UCL Library Tours and the New Student Centre

We are very excited to open our doors for you to browse our state-of-the-art library facilities and the opportunity to join one of our guided tours hosted by the Library Services Team. UCL Library Services supports learning, teaching and research at UCL and consists of 17 libraries and learning spaces located across London, covering a wide range of specialist subjects. The dedicated Library Services Team will open the doors of the Student Centre and will give you highlight tours of the Main Library and the Science Library. Make sure to come along to get a unique insight into what studying at UCL could look like for you. 
 
Main Library
Come to the Wilkins Building on the day and explore the UCL Main Library, which holds collections in Art, Economics, English, History, Humanities, Law, Modern Languages, Philosophy and Public Policy. The Main Library does not only provide abundant resources for students but is also home to one of the biggest collections of work by the famous neo-classical artist John Flaxman, which creates a stunning and unique environment for UCL students to study in. You don’t want to miss out on this extra-ordinary view, so make sure to visit the Main Library between 3-7pm or come along to one of the guided tours at 3:30pm, 4:30pm, 5:30pm, or 6:30pm (tickets to be collected from the Information Point at the entrance to the Main Library) Main Library Desk). Science Library

You don’t want to miss out on this unique insight into what university study could look like for you, so make sure to visit the Main Library between 3-7pm or come along to one of the guided tours at 3:30pm, 4:30pm, 5:30pm, or 6:30pm (tickets to be collected from the Science Library Help Desk).

Student Centre
The Student Centre is the new heart of UCL's Bloomsbury campus, providing 1,104 additional study spaces and enhancing the student experience. We are delighted to invite you for a self-guided tour throughout the brand new building, designed from the ground up with the needs of students at its heart. Find out about the practical support UCL students can get in the Student Enquiries Centre, and with 1,104 new study spaces and new routes across campus, it radically improves the way you move and learn at UCL. The Student Centre is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every single day of the year. The Student Centre is located next to UCL's Bloomsbury Theatre, at 27-28 Gordon Square, London, WC1H 0AW. It is accessible from both Gordon Street and the Japanese Garden and you can visit any time between 3-7pm.
