STS is an interdisciplinary centre for studying science. We use approaches from history, philosophy, sociology and other humanities to examine science and it’s relationship with society. We focus on science as a body of knowledge and a set of methods, while also focusing on it as a product and producer of culture.  It provides us with a medium for exploring fundamental questions and also has specialised approaches to communication, public engagement, and policy. All together, we are one of the most intellectually diverse communities at UCL.

STS is respected across UCL for our dedication to teaching and learning. We commit ourselves to creating academic experiences that reward hard work. Over the past two years, we've reviewed our curriculum and assessment to ensure we are training you for the next decade.
STS has helped students grow into the futures they defined for themselves and we are commited to encouraging students towards ambitious futures and further opportunities.
