UCL Access and Widening Participation

Access UCL

Access UCL is UCL's alternative offer scheme for students from groups that are underrepresented at UCL. To be eligible you must be attending or have attended a UK state school for your A levels or IB Diploma and live in an area that has a high level of financial, social or economic deprivation, or low progression to higher education. If you are a care experienced applicant, a young adult carer or estranged from your family, you may also qualify; please see the guidance via the link below.

Eligible students who qualify for the Access UCL scheme will receive a reduced offer for the programme they have applied for. Applicants that are eligible for the Access UCL Scheme based on postcode data will automatically be identified through their UCAS application, so they do not need to apply for the scheme to be considered.

You can check your eligibility using our online eligibility checker. Please note that we review the eligibility criteria for Access UCL on an annual basis, and that the information currently on the checker is for 2022 entry only. Please visit this page again later in the year (from September onwards) to check your eligibility, prior to making your UCAS application.

For more information about the scheme, including guidance for care experienced applicants, young adult carers or those estranged from their family, as well as details of how we assess eligibility, please see visit our Access UCL Scheme page.
