Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering
As the UK’s largest academic medical physics and biomedical engineering department, we represent a community of around 80 academic and research staff leading innovation and discovery across an extensive range of medical physics and engineering specialisms. Students have access to a range of laboratory, workshop, teaching and clinical facilities within the department, as well as at associated hospitals and industrial partners. There is a clear focus on the development of new techniques and technologies, as well as their translation into clinically effective tools, and subsequent downstream commercial exploitation. Our MSc offers a research-informed approach to teaching, delivered by internationally recognised leaders of the field. The MSc has been accredited for many years by the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM).
