There has never been a more important time for planning in the context of globalisation, economic unevenness, social exclusion, global-warming, urban deterioration and increased mobility. We continue to develop closer links to external agencies and professions as part of our knowledge, research and profiling work.
Different dimensions of the subject are taught in an integrated fashion, with the complexity exposed and addressed from the start. Competing objectives, agendas, approaches and limitations of planning are exposed in and made real through a variety of problem-solving activities and real-life scenarios, with our students being pushed to achieve dynamic results. We offer a unique hands-on learning environment for students, involving interaction with some of the leading urban planning academics and practitioners, through close supervision, creative project work, and teaching innovation.
