Information for employers

Degree Apprenticeships are the fastest-growing route to an innovative and cost-effective way of attracting top talent. Train and add high calibre candidates to your business.

Grow your business by employing an apprentice

Make the most of your Apprenticeship Levy funds to add value and positively impact your organisation's performance, productivity and competitiveness.

Nurture talent and diversify your workplace

Degree apprenticeships offer a cost-effective way of attracting, training and retaining high-calibre employees. Improve social mobility by offering a different route into, and progression through, your organisation.

Apprenticeships are cost effective training solutions

Make your training and development budget stretch further by tapping into government funding:

  • If you’re a levy-paying employer, you can use the funds in your account to pay for apprenticeship training and assessment (a funding band maximum exists),
  • If you’re a non-levy-paying employer, you can share the cost of the apprenticeship training with the government.

Get funding for your business

Degree Apprentices for employers with an annual PAYE bill of £3m or more can be funded through their monthly Apprenticeship Levy payment.

Smaller employers not eligible for the Apprenticeship Levy share course fees with the governement (90%) and employers (10%).

We offer support for employers

Our dedicated programme leads and University mentors support employers. Leads and mentors are actively involved in the development of their employees.

We make sure employers take advantage of opportunities to feed into programme improvements.

I have been working with UCL since 2021. We have a number of employees undertaking the MSc Spatial Planning Degree Apprenticeship. From start to finish the process has been fantastic and very supportive. Those studying have found the course interesting and informative with opportunities for field trips and varied forms of learning. Overall, an excellent course and experience for students and employers.
