|Data Science and Machine Learning MSc||Specific clarification in personal statement||Applicants should ensure the personal statement is prefaced with a clarification of formal qualifications awarded, level studied and grades achieved in linear algebra; calculus; probability and statistics.|

Applicants whose studies for their undergraduate degree have been undertaken wholly or mainly at a university located outside the UK must supply GRE General Test scores. The quantitative GRE score must be 161 or above (post-August 2011 scores).

|LLM||Written work||In addition to your personal statement please write 750 words on a topic of contemporary relevance in your area of legal interest and upload this as an additional document in the application form. Your written work should demonstrate your reasoning and analytical ability and communication skills. Note that a random sample of submitted written work will be put through plagiarism detection software by our admissions team.|
|Health Economics and Decision Science MSc||Proposed dissertation|
The MSc dissertation utilises the skills gained in your modules and will enable you to focus on a topic related to your own interests or career plans. Please provide a maximum 500 word summary of your intended dissertation topic. This summary should outline your intended research question, objectives, methodology and where you expect to find evidence or data. Abstracts from open access journals may assist you with this but do not copy their wording as this constitutes plagiarism. During your programme you will receive help in refining your topic and may be able to change it.
Institute of Education
Applicants to all taught programmes should use the following structure when writing your personal statement:
- Which previous professional or academic experiences have influenced your decision to apply to the Institute of Education (IOE) and to this programme? (200-250 words)
- How will these previous experiences influence the way in which you will approach your studies at the IOE? Please make reference to specific experiences and to the way in which you learned and studied. (350-400 words)
- In which ways do you envisage you will use the knowledge and skills you will gain on the programme? How will this link to your previous learning and experiences? (150-200 words)
If you choose to upload your personal statement as an attachment then please note that, in general, there is no fixed word limit, however, we would expect your statement to be typed and no longer than two sides of A4 paper.
