Outstanding Team Contribution to Achieving Our Mission

The finalists for the the Ways of Working: Working Together Award were nominated for taking ownership of their work and for showing vision and innovative practice.

COVID-19 PCR testing service

Early in the pandemic, this team of academics and PS staff from multiple departments across UCL, recognised the contribution that UCL could make to tackle a global challenge.

The team provided a daily on-site service throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and provided an in-house testing service to staff and students at the start of Term 1 in 2020.

They have been dedicated and worked to the highest of standards at all times, whilst still continuing to maintain their other activities, and pulled together as an expert team to deliver a critical service through an incredibly challenging period.

Congratulations to: Helen Lowe, Leah Ensell, John Hartley, Sonia Buckingham, Adrienne Flanagan, Alan Weston

Finalists

B-made (Bartlett Manufacturing and Design Exchange)

B-made dissolves boundaries between the world of professional services, teaching, research, enterprise, and enabling – pioneering many novel initiatives in the last 10 years.

And the way in which it responded to the pandemic so that programs could continue without access to their core physical facilities was exceptional. Shifting online, B-made created a Connected Learning Portal resulting in 100's of new pages of learning content.

The team's coherent, insightful and strategic plan to become online further exposed its resourcefulness and diversity of talents.

Economics Teaching and Learning Team

Despite the impact of the pandemic on teaching delivery and more than double their usual intake of UG students putting extreme pressure on departmental resources, the Economics Teaching and Learning Team has been outstanding across the board.

They have shown a level of efficiency and dedication that was both inspirational and instrumental in ensuring the department's success.

They achieve the perfect mix of dedication to its mission and understanding of their departmental ""culture", and care deeply not only about the students but also about supporting academics in the best way they can.
