Our response to the invasion of Ukraine required us to work across boundaries, structures, and teams

The Russian Federation’s invasion of Ukraine in February this year has had profound and far-reaching consequences affecting individuals and institutions.

Across the university we worked collectively and collaboratively to provide support for our students and staff at home, as well as to help provide sanctuary to our counterparts from Ukraine’s Universities – a system that comprises over 1.7 million students.

This work required us to work across boundaries, structures, and teams, and we built on lessons we learned through responding to previous complex challenges such as the coronavirus pandemic and recent events in Afghanistan.
