Training and clinical information support
The Clinical Information Support staff are here to help you with all of your clinical information needs.
The library can support you with finding and managing information for study, research, clinical practice, or professional development. We also have a collection of books to support your general wellbeing. You can arrange in-person support, or you can use our online guides and tutorials to help you with using our resources.
Contact us for individual or group support with using the library’s resources and services; with searching for information, including creating systematic searches for systematic reviews, clinical guidelines, or other publications; for help with setting up current awareness alerts; for support with referencing and reference management; for other research support, for example with using UCL’s Research Publications Service (RPS); or for clinical support, for example with finding literature for evidence-based practice.
Book some training with a librarian
Any library member can book a free place on our scheduled training sessions. There are a mix of online and face-to-face options. Many of the sessions are offered as part of the UCL Doctoral Skills Development Programme, and UCL PhD students will be able to get credit for attendance

We provide scheduled group training which any library member can attend. We can also arrange customised group training. Please get in touch if you would like to arrange something for your department or unit.

Online support for developing research and library skills
A range of online guides are available for you to work through in your own time.
Self-paced online tutorials are available to help you get started with developing library-related and literature searching skills.
What is available specifically for GOSH staff?
There are two introductory library sessions specifically for GOSH staff:
- Introduction to the library and to literature searching for GOSH staff.
- Introduction to EndNote reference management software for GOSH staff.

You can use this portal to access all of the online library resources that are available to you with an NHS Athens account. This includes online journal articles, e-books, literature databases, clinical support tools, and many other publications.
