Project Summary 

“Tuberculosis among HIV-positive Patients: An International Prospective Observational Cohort Study” is a multicenter cohort study of more than 1400 HIV-positive patients co-infected with tuberculosis (TB).

The TB:HIV study is conducted over a five-year time period (2011-2015), and the study collects data on patients from 62 TB and HIV clinics in 19 countries across Eastern Europe, Western Europe, Southern Europe, and Latin America. By the end of 2013, more than 1400 patients had been enrolled into the study, each patient is followed-up for two years meaning that the study period will end by December, 2015.

The overall aim of the project is to prospectively study the long-term clinical prognosis of HIV-positive patients with active TB disease across Europe and Latin America, temporal changes and regional diversities.
