The Institute of Cardiovascular Science’s (ICS) PhD Three Minute Thesis competition, held on 20 April 2026, was very well attended and showcased an outstanding standard of presentations, with all participating students delivering fantastic talks.
Congratulations to our 2026 winners: Dr Ben Dowsing (second from the left), from the Clinical Sciences research department, for his presentation “Approaches to Heart Failure Management in Breast Cancer,” supervised by Professor Charlotte Manisty (ICS) and Professor Malcolm Walker (ICS); and Dr Charo Bruce (third from the left), from the Children’s Cardiovascular Disease research department, for “SELECT: Salt Sensitivity of Blood Pressure in Coarctation of the Aorta,” supervised by Professor Vivek Muthurangu and Dr Michael Quail.
Each winner received a £50 gift voucher and will now progress to the Faculty 3MT competition on 15 May 2026 at UCL East, as part of the Faculty’s PhD Symposium, UCL200: From Learners to Leaders in Population Health. We also extend our sincere thanks to Ms Lydia Clinton (Education Coordinator) for her hard work in helping to organise the event.
