On Friday 20 March 2026, students from the UCL Institute for Global Health, in collaboration with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, King’s College London, and the London School of Economics, hosted a ‘Global Health Networking Event’ bringing together over 75 Master’s students from across London. The student-led event was dedicated to connection, collaboration and community-building across the global health landscape.
The event unfolded in two parts, opening with a lively speed-networking session, supported by an interactive bingo card activity designed to spark conversation and help students meet as many new peers as possible. The second half of the evening transitioned into a peer-led career fair. Students from each programme were positioned at stations, sharing their professional journeys and insights across a wide range of fields, including clinical medicine, medical research, nonprofit work, and local government. This format created an approachable, student-centred space where attendees could ask candid questions, explore diverse career paths, and gain practical advice from peers who have navigated similar decisions.
The event succeeded not only in expanding professional networks but also in strengthening the sense of community across London’s global health programmes.
We hope the Global Health Networking Event marks the beginning of a long-standing legacy between London Universities, one that continues to bring together emerging global health students and foster meaningful connections for years to come.
A huge well done to Kamilla Sarvestani, a current student on our Global Health and Development MSc, for leading this event and making it such a huge success.
