University College London (UCL) is now third in the world and second in the UK for Public Health in the 2024 Shanghai Rankings, moving up three places from sixth place in 2023.

The Faculty Dean, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar, shares his congratulations "I'm thrilled that UCL has moved to third place globally and secured second place in the UK for Public Health in the 2024 Shanghai Rankings. We pride ourselves on our commitment to world-class education and research, contributing to global efforts to tackle pressing issues impacting us all, from health inequalities, healthcare management, pandemic prevention, climate-change to disease."

Shanghai Ranking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) 2024 highlights the world's top universities in a range of popular subject areas. The rankings analyse 5,000 universities and look at a collection of indicators, including measures of research productivity, research quality, the extent of international collaboration, research with top quality, and the highest academic recognition.

Shanghai Ranking has been publishing the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) by academic subjects since 2009 and is considered one of the leading international league tables.
