Ali:

I have been enjoying the Changing Health Systems module, especially the interactive nature of the seminars and being able to discuss a lot of the topics. At several seminars I attended, we had to work together within a group to create a mind-map which I thought was fun. My favourite part within this module was Health Financing topic lecture and seminar, as that also relates a lot to my interests in health economics!
Haya:

What I really like about changing health systems is that it has a very engaging class, where you will have a lot of rich discussions that will open your eyes to many aspects of the healthcare system. We had the chance to compare the healthcare systems among different countries and learn from the success stories of implementing a specific policy or overcoming a pandemic. The seminar includes a lecture recap, discussing, and the activities in groups.
Shu Ying:

I found the course interesting and engaging as it covered a wide range of topics related to healthcare systems and their improvement; for instance, it gave me an understanding of the complexity of healthcare systems, examined healthcare financing, explored the role of technology and much more. The flow of the course was appropriately designed to allow me to delve into the course step by step, and the material provided each week was helpful. Students were able to interact in tutorial sessions. In addition, the course is taught by experienced faculty members who are experts in their fields. They use various teaching methods, including lectures, case studies and group discussions, to help students understand the material and apply it to real-world situations.
Hui Ying:

For me, the most attractive part of Changing Health System Module is that we can learn about many different healthcare systems in different countries and different situations. When we compare them, we can find many exciting things and have a deep understanding of how to improve the healthcare system in a different case. Also, the tutor – Mr Mike’s teaching, is exciting and attractive, so that is another point I love this module so much.
Cassie:

The seminar usually starts with a recap of the recorded lecture and is followed by a discussion of the reading material, which is usually some reflection on cases. Besides, Mr Mike Rowson and Ms Joan Langley combine their practice/experience with the discussion, which makes it easier to understand and sometimes lets us know that there is a gap between theory and practice. Perhaps, that is what we need to think about.
Yao:

This course is very well-structured in a very logical way. Everything is new since it is my first time learning about policies. It’s interesting to know how countries work on improving health levels, like implementing taxes on sugar-sweetened beverages and policies protecting health workers.
