The HCI was also awarded £1 million for a 5 year period to establish a Neuroprotection group applying their expertise on cardioprotection to that of the brain. In addition, four new students joined the HCI to undertake their PhD’s - 3 of whom are clinical (BHF & UCLH Charity supported) and 1 non-clinical (MRC supported).
