International Gaucher Day was launched by the Gaucher Alliance in 2014 and is celebrated annually on 1st October to raise awareness of Gaucher disease. The theme for 2018 was Rare Stars and videos were shared throughout the lead up to the day. Simon Waddington , Dept Maternal & Fetal Medicine at IfWH, was nominated as one of these.
