Before UCL 

What were you doing before you became a student at UCL?
I was a high school student doing International Baccalaureate Diploma in Hong Kong. I also carried out a long-term volunteering position within a small charity in Hong Kong, and travelled with them to poor areas in foreign countries. 

Your time at UCL

What attracted you to study BSc Population Health at UCL?
Learning about health and big data, of which the two I believe are the two of the most prominent aspects that every society should get a firm grasp on.  

What’s the best thing about your programme?
The best thing about the programme is our practical application of real life data upon current global scenarios. 

What can a student expect to learn on this course?
Essentially you will learn the dynamics of how health and society interplay with one another and develop strong data analysis skills, as well as the core aspects of epidemiology. 

What is it like studying in London and how do you think it’s benefited your studies?
London is multicultural, I got exposure to various cultures and made friends from people all over the world. By having a classroom of mixed backgrounds I was exposed to different perspectives that I would never think of to a certain subject

Life after UCL

What are your career plans once you’ve completed your current studies at UCL? 
I am planning to work in the Data Science or Big Data field, and possibly carrying out work within the health sector.

Student Wisdom 

What piece of advice would you give to new students? 
Make plans for fun and studies. Do go explore the city and the surrounding areas in various ways, you will find fascinating things to do that you would never have imagined.
