Research changes lives	4-5 Oct 2022	Royal College of Ophthalmology (Rcophth)	Ophthalmologists or other ophthalmic professionals at any career stage with little prior research experience who would like an introduction to doing, appraising, and applying research to improve clinical practice.	Day 1 covers ‘Appraising and applying research’ and Day 2 covers ‘Getting started in clinical research’. Bitesize Ophthalmic StatisticS (BOSS) series	Nov 2020 - ongoing	Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) Ophthalmology Department	Clinicians	Monthly seminar series on methods and applications in ophthalmic statistics to stimulate critical thinking and equip clinicians to carry out robust ophthalmic research. Past topics: Significance - clinical vs statistical?; Unit of analysis - patient vs ocular level?; Scales of variables; Visualisations; Power analysis; Missing data; and ANOVA (4-parts). Myopia, or short sightedness, is one of the most common ocular disorders worldwide, with a rapidly increasing incidence. The Vision and Eyes Group will take the audience through lifecourse, genetic and clinical epidemiology to tackle another global pandemic.
Visual field testing in children	2022	UCL Institute of Ophthalmology	MSc students (PGCert Paediatric Ophthalmology)	This lecture will be delivered as part of a PGCert in Paediatric Ophthalmology.

Visualising ophthalmic data: welcome to the multilayer complexity	25/06/2021	NIHR Statistics Group Fifth Annual Conference	Statisticians and clinical academics	The session covered an overview of the process of visualisations and complexities of ophthalmic data, followed by two case studies. The open discussion was an opportunity to debate ideas and challenges encountered in communicating visualisations of multilayer data.

Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on vision and eyes research and on academic ophthalmology	20/10/2020	Royal College of Ophthalmologists (RCOpht)	Undergraduate and postgraduate students, researchers, and clinicians.	Summary of the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on research and on academic ophthalmology. Actions that the Royal College of Ophthalmologists is advocating to mitigate these impacts as the pandemic unfolds. Childhood eye disease research	21/04/2020	UCL GOS Institute of Child Health	MSc students	This lecture was delivered as part of the MSc Paediatrics and Child Health and focused on research into chronic eye health disorders as part of a module on specialist paediatrics with a focus on chronic issues.
