Professor Amitava Banerjee has been appointed as Senior Investigator by the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) in its 2026 cohort. Amitava is Professor of Clinical Data Science at the UCL Institute of Health Informatics and Consultant Cardiologist at University College London Hospitals (UCLH) and Barts Health NHS Trusts, with interests spanning data science, cardiovascular disease, global health, training and evidence-based healthcare. He is currently National Cardiovascular Specialty Lead for the NIHR Research Delivery Network.
