UCL Centre for Gender and Global Health
Aiming to promote a transformative approach to gender and health in research, policy and practice, through collaboration across UCL disciplines.
About the Centre
The Centre on Gender and Global Health explores how gender influences health outcomes, policies, and systems around the world. We work across disciplines and geographies to generate evidence that drives change in global health thinking and practice.
Strategic Priorities
We focus on four key priorities:
- Conduct collaborative research on the relationships between gender and health at individual, community, and societal levels, and examine how global health institutions respond to gender-related evidence.
- Promote the dissemination and uptake of gender and health research through partnerships with NGOs, communities, media, policymakers, educators, and student groups across multiple continents.
- Share findings through diverse formats including peer-reviewed publications, policy briefs, public talks, media engagement, and the Global Health 50/50 report on gender mainstreaming in global health institutions.
- Advance gender-inclusive global health education through a multidisciplinary teaching module and short course, contributions to the MSc in Global Health and Development, and collaboration with Students for Global Health to integrate gender into the national medical curriculum.
Centre leadership
