About

On behalf of Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice UK and UCL, you are warmly invited to a screening of ‘The Unequal Pandemic’ followed by a panel discussion.

The Unequal Pandemic film, executively produced by Debbie Abrahams MP and Good Guys Productions, draws to light the disproportionate impact of the pandemic on marginalised communities, as also highlighted by the Covid Inquiry’s first report published in July.

The event offers a crucial opportunity for policymakers, bereaved families, experts and all with an interest in protecting lives in the future, to take stock of what went wrong, and discuss how the Government should respond to the Covid Inquiry’s recommendations to ensure the UK is better equipped to handle future pandemics.

Chair:

  • Prof Delanjathan Devakumar (Professor of Global Child Health and Director of the UCL Centre for the Health of Women, Children and Adolescents)

Panellists:

  • Prof Sir Michael Marmot (Professor of Epidemiology and Director of the UCL Institute of Health Equity)
  • Prof Naomi Fulop (Professor of Health Care Organisation and Management and Director of Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice UK)
  • Debbie Abrahams (Labour MP for Oldham East and Saddleworth)
  • Andrew Gwynne (Labour (Co-op) MP for Gorton and Denton and Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department of Health and Social Care)
  • Oluwalogbon Akinnola (Campaigner from Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice UK)

We hope you will be able to join us. Please book your place on Eventbrite to guarantee a place.
