ABSTRACT
People in prison experience greater health inequalities than their peers in the community. Prison though presents challenges in regards to meeting the physical health, mental health and social care needs of this population. This talk goes into details regarding market failure in providing health care in prisons and how to address this.

Rachael Hunter is the newly appointed Professor of Health Economics in the Department of Applied Health Research. She started as a health economist at UCL in 2010 working for Priment clinical trials unit. Her interests are in economic evaluations alongside clinical trials, particularly in vulnerable and hard to reach populations.
