Simulation studies are a powerful tool in epidemiology and biostatistics, but they can be hard to conduct successfully. Sometimes unexpected results are obtained. The speakers (Ian White, Tra My Pham and Matteo Quartagno) offer advice on how to check a simulation study when this occurs, and how to design and conduct the study to give results that are easier to check.  illustrate the ideas using an example simulation study with code in Stata and R.A preprint is available at https://osf.io/cbr72/, and attendees may wish to download the example files in Stata or R from this site.

(This will be a hybrid event, details on how to join the online event is given on the registration website)
