The future health of the public: Towards transdisciplinary research

Registration is now open for the UCL Populations & Lifelong Health Domain Symposium - The future health of the public: Towards transdisciplinary research on Tuesday 17 January 2017 at the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health.

This one-day conference, organised by the UCL Populations & Lifelong Health Domain, will showcase transdisciplinary research taking place at UCL in population health. Talks are planned on a diverse range of themes including healthy cities, digital health and antimicrobial resistance. 

The event will provide an opportunity to hear from funders about their plans for the future funding of transdisciplinary research and there will be time for discussions with funders, users of funded research and plenty of opportunity to network with colleagues and build new collaborations. 

We are also holding an abstract competition for early career researchers around the session themes (healthy cities, digital health and antimicrobial resistance). Abstracts must be submitted using the Eventbrite registration link (below).

The deadline for submitting abstracts is Friday 18 November.

The abstract competition is open to early career researchers (ECRs), i.e. those in the early stages of their research career. We encourage you to self-define whether you identify as an ECR, but entries are particularly encouraged from post-doc researchers up to junior lecturer. Note that there is no age limit here.

Submitted abstracts will be scored by the Symposium Organising Committee. The top-scoring nine applicants will be invited to present their research to the 250-strong Symposium audience. The other selected applicants will be invited to present a poster of their abstract to display during the day. The poster and presentation competition winners will then be announced and rewarded at the end of the Symposium, before the networking drinks reception.

A certificate of attendance is available to all attendees via UCL Life Learning for the purpose of recording learning hours. Please note, this is not an accredited Continuing Professional Development (CPD) event but the learning hours can be logged as part of a CPD record.
