CAPS is dedicated to understanding the health conditions that impact well-being and independence across the ageing process, with a particular focus on addressing the inequalities that shape how people age. We use this insight to design, develop, and evaluate complex interventions that support health and well-being. Our multidisciplinary team brings together expertise in primary care research, intervention development, qualitative methods, epidemiology, and clinical trials. Public and patient involvement is embedded in all stages of our work, with many of our studies co-produced in partnership with the people and communities they aim to support, including those often underrepresented in research. CAPS is at the forefront of primary care research, advancing evidence-based approaches that are inclusive, impactful, and tailored to the diverse needs of an ageing population.
We have a broad programme of work; the key themes are:
- Multiple long-term conditions (MLTCs)
- Dementia and Cognitive Impairment
- Parkinson's
- Frailty
