Data Collection on Adverse events of Anti-HIV Drugs (D:A:D)
Project Summary
The Data Collection on Adverse events of Anti-HIV Drugs (D:A:D) was a prospective multi-cohort study of people with HIV.
The purpose of the study was to assess the incidence of several serious non-AIDS conditions (including cardiovascular disease, end-stage liver and renal disease and cancer) among people living with HIV and to describe their associations with anti-retroviral therapy (ART).
The collaboration included 11 cohorts worldwide, with a total sample size of >50,000 patients from 212 clinics in 33 countries in Europe, USA and Australia.
Although funding for the study has now finished, and no new data is being collected, analyses continue on the existing dataset, which includes information on risk factors for serious clinical events, HIV, demographic and lifestyle factors.
