Our Strategic Aims are:
- to combat pathogen resistance through screening and mechanistic studies to develop diagnostics and novel/re purposed therapeutics.
- to understand disease mechanisms (genomics and multiomics) and develop novel/targeted therapies for inflammatory disorders across all ages.
- to develop new and improved gene and cell therapies for genetic disorders, haematological malignancies and transplantation and explore the mechanisms that underlie malignant transformation and transplant rejection.

Funding
Departmental Travel Awards
Up to eight £500 John Lipscombe Memorial Travel Awards are available for III PhD students presenting at scientific meetings. Awards cover travel or online registration and are competitively awarded to students with accepted abstracts.
