Our mission and why it matters
We study the mechanisms underlying embryonic development and tissue homeostasis, advance our understanding of the causes of paediatric cancer and congenital anomalies and develop treatments.
The department is divided into three sections:
Cancer
Improving outcomes for children diagnosed with cancer through defining unique disease susceptibilities and targeting them with novel therapies.
Developmental Biology of Birth Defects
Uncovering how genetic and cellular processes cause birth defects and tumours, advancing diagnosis, prevention, and treatment.
Stem Cells & Regenerative Medicine
Promoting and expanding translational stem cell research to harness the great potential of regenerative medicine for childhood disease.
