Carers voices: experiences from a universal child development screening programme in Thailand

Project Summary
The engagement of carers in early childhood development is particularly important in low and middle income country contexts suffering from shortages of mental health human resources.
In Thailand, a national universal Developmental Screening Programme (DSPM) was initiated in 2015 for children from 0 to five years (http://thaichilddevelopment.com) to enable early detection of developmental disorders. Our qualitative study will describe the experience of carers exposed to the DSPM and will complement an on-going provider-focused government evaluation of DSPM.
