Centre for Clinical Cardiovascular Engineering
We use computational simulation and modelling to improve cardiovascular care and support clinical decisions.
About the Centre
We are a multidisciplinary team of engineers, computer scientists and clinicians based at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, London, UK. We employ both experimental and computational techniques for modelling cardiovascular disease and treatments, to study the function and performance of the heart in congenital and acquired diseases. Much of our work focuses on patient specific modelling to help clinical decision making and optimise individual patient outcomes. We support specialised training and education, and patient/public engagement activities.
We also have established strong and productive collaborations with several Institutions worldwide, and we host visiting students and researchers from numerous UK and European Centres throughout the year for research projects.
