Shaping the future of cardiovascular health
Since its foundation in 1826, UCL has been at the forefront of advancing our understanding of the cardiovascular (CV) system in both health and disease, applying new knowledge for the benefit of all. The award of a BHF CRE builds on this legacy by enabling multidisciplinary workforce development, fostering collaborations with engineering and data science, and supporting rich platforms for genomic, imaging, and socioeconomic research across the life course.
Our CRE is built around four themes that align with UCL’s mission to reduce the impact of cardiovascular disease (CVD). These themes - and the connections between them - will help deliver the BHF’s goals: better outcomes, more effective treatments, and the promotion of healthy ageing.
