UCL Q-Step Centre
The UCL Q-Step Centre is part of a £20m investment by the Nuffield Foundation, ESRC and Hefce to promote a step-change in training in data analysis for social science undergraduates in the UK.
UCL Q-Step offers specialist undergraduate degree programmes in European Social and Political Studies, Geography with Quantitative Methods, Philosophy, Politics & Economics (PPE); Population Health; and Social Science with Quantitative Methods.
Our degree programmes provide students with advanced, and highly transferable skills in research design, data analysis, statistical computing, and visualization. In additional to the course modules, students can extend their training through a range of summer short-courses, a work placement scheme and opportunities to produce and present their research through student conferences, ‘hack-a-thons’ and seminars hosted by leaders in data science.
Q-Step at UCL gives students a competitive advantage whether they choose to go on to postgraduate study or in employment, where data analytic skills are in high demand, but short supply.
